Apocalypse diaries.

For the launch of State of Decay 2, we told interactive stories about the most dangerous part of an apocalypse. Not the zombies. The people.

Case Study:

Two online films. Both set 18 months after the collapse of society. A pair of survivors record their daily lives, capturing the choices they make, the consequences they face, and how their fates collide.

Camcorders loaded with the diary films were sent to influencers inside backpacks of scavenged goods. The hope was their savvy followers would piece the dueling stories together. They did.

What’s more frightening than an apocalypse? Making a thread of Twitter threads that acted as a choose-your-own-adventure story. Still have nightmares.
